Effective Value Selling Leadership, Sales & Service in One Integrated Method

Your Team Is Not Losing on Price. They Are Losing Before Price Comes Up.

By the time the client asks for a discount, the conversation is already over. The case for value was never built — so price is the only thing left to negotiate. That is a skill problem, and skills can be trained.

The Problem You Already See

Your team is losing sales — or profits — because of price.

I have sat with hundreds of sales teams, and the pattern is almost always the same. The salespeople are capable. The product is good. The market is there. And when the conversation reaches price, the discount comes out — because no one built the case for value first.

The deal closes smaller. Or slower. Or not at all.

Not because the offer was weak. Because the selling competed on cost instead of value.

When the client sees only price, price is all they can negotiate.

Here is what makes this expensive rather than merely annoying: a discount is not a marketing cost. It comes out of net profit, in full, on the day it is given. A team that gives away four points of margin to close is not trading a little profit for a little volume — it is funding the client's savings out of the business.

Problem

Competing on price, not value

Teams discount to win, handle objections defensively, and treat each deal as a transaction — so margins and relationships both erode.

Impact

Thin margins, slow growth

Shrinking profits, longer sales cycles, commoditized offers, lost deals, and clients who never become the loyal, expanding accounts they could be.

Benefit of Solving It

Commercial excellence, end to end

Higher volume and margins, faster cycles, win-win agreements, loyal clients, and accounts that expand and refer — a commercial engine, not a series of one-off deals.

Why the Last Sales Training Wore Off

Ninety days later, most of it is gone. That is not the trainer's fault.

A company buys sales training. The numbers lift for a quarter. Then everything snaps back, and the assumption is that the training was weak or the team was lazy. Neither is usually true. The problem is that three connected systems were treated as three separate problems.

Leadership sets the ceiling

Sales behavior is downstream from leadership behavior. If a manager rewards volume at any margin, the team will discount — whatever they learned in the room.

Sales makes the promise

A value conversation only holds if the case is real. Trained properly, the team stops defending price and starts building the business case for it.

Service keeps it — or breaks it

Whatever sales promised, service either delivers or contradicts. That is where loyalty, expansion and referral are decided, long after the deal is signed.

Leadership affects sales. Sales affects service. Service affects loyalty. Loyalty affects growth. And integrity affects everything.

That is the argument behind the Magna Influence Method, and it is the reason value-selling work done this way holds after the room empties. The training is sales-shaped. The foundation under it is not.

Documented, Not Typical

Thirty-six hours of work. A fourteen-fold return.

An industrial automation client ran a commercial excellence project built on Effective Value Selling — six sales workshops, six coaching sessions, and a certification process to make the behavior stick. Thirty-six hours of live delivery across nine months. The team stopped defending price and started building the business case.

14×

Return on investment — 1,302%, calculated on net profit

+4.1 pts

Gross margin expansion, achieved without a single discount campaign

Nearly 2×

Net profit, comparing the same nine months year on year

Every figure came from the client, not from me. The return was calculated in an ROI report prepared for that client's general manager, and it is available on request. I do not claim I was the only cause — markets moved, teams worked, leaders decided. I claim these are documented, which is a different and more useful word than typical.

What Your Team Learns to Do

Six changes your CFO can see in the numbers.

Strategies tested and approved by thousands of sales professionals in demanding companies — and tailored to yours, using your real accounts, not a case study from a textbook.

1

Attract the right clients and increase both volume and margin — without stress, and without discounting.

2

Overcome objections with agility and confidence, turning resistance into progress rather than into a concession.

3

Build client relationships that shorten the sales cycle, because trust removes the steps that suspicion adds.

4

Negotiate win-win agreements that protect margin and close faster.

5

Retain clients and expand accounts into new, more profitable opportunities.

6

Prepare business meetings that open doors and generate valuable referrals.

Three Ways In

Start where the problem actually is.

A keynote changes the conversation. A program changes the behavior. A transformation changes the system. Which one you need depends on how deep the discounting habit already runs — and that is worth a conversation before anyone quotes you anything.

Keynote

Change the conversation in the room

Sixty to ninety minutes that give an entire sales organization a shared language for value — and make the next quarter's discounting visible as a choice rather than a habit.

Conferences, sales kick-offs, annual meetings

The Three-Day Program

Effective Value Selling, end to end

Plan, negotiate, expand — the full commercial journey. Each participant works on their own live accounts and leaves with a plan for the clients they are selling to right now.

Directors, managers and sales professionals

Transformation

Align leadership, sales and service

A multi-month engagement combining workshops, coaching and certification, so the behavior survives the quarter. This is what produced the fourteen-fold return above.

Organizations where the pattern keeps returning

Before You Ask

The questions serious buyers ask first.

Is this just another sales training?

It is sales training, and that is the point of entry. What makes it hold is that the leadership behavior above it and the service behavior after it are treated as part of the same system. Training the middle alone is why the last one wore off in ninety days.

How fast do we see anything?

Behavior in the room changes on day one, because each participant works on their own live accounts rather than on a case study. The industrial automation client measured a fourteen-fold return over nine months. Nine months is a fair window to judge by; ninety days is not.

Our margins are thin because of the market, not our selling.

Sometimes that is true, and I will tell you when I think it is. What I would want to look at first is whether your win rate and your average discount move together. If they do, the market is not setting your price — your sales conversations are.

Can you deliver this to a team that is not in one place?

Yes. In person, virtual, or a mix, in English, Spanish or Portuguese — and the language matters more than people expect when the material is about how a conversation is built.

You cover leadership, sales and service. Is that not too broad?

It would be, if they were three separate topics. They are not. I have been called "The Service Man," "The Value Selling Expert" and "a global authority in ethical influence" — because I do not treat Leadership, Sales and Service as three separate subjects. They are three dimensions of one system, and the value-selling work is where most organizations feel the system first.

What does it cost?

It depends on the format, the size of the team and how much of the system needs work — which is why I would rather look at your situation than send you a rate card. The conversation costs nothing, and you will leave it knowing what you actually need, including whether it is me.

The Next Step

Bring me one deal your team discounted to win.

One real account, one real conversation. In thirty minutes I will show you where the value case was available and nobody built it. If that is useful, we will talk about the team. If it is not, you will still have the deal analyzed.
